Australian Grand Prix NEXT STOP
CANBERRA, AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY
The AGPT Eliminator sees us back in Canberra for what will be an EPIC start to the Australian AGPT National Series. A new venue this time and a venue that saw the likes of Brad Bevan, Chris McCormack, Courtney Aitkins just to name a few race at this iconic location. The race site is all at our fingertips and probably one of the best spectator venues in Australia. Besides our best youth, juniors, U23 and Elite athletes going toe to toe we will have some age groupers giving it a crack. Plus it will also be the first opportunity for State/Territories to have a look at their teams for the Mixed Relays as this will be 1 of 2 selection races to determine State/Territory MR teams for the MR Championships in April 2023.

Testimonials
Read what some of our AGPT supporters have to say;
Its great seeing a committed, motivated individual with the experience and knowledge of Corey Bacon taking the delivery of pathway triathlon racing to the next level. Triathlon in Australia has needed a race series the calibre of the Grand Prix Series for a long time. Well done Corey, I for one am ecstatic our junior athletes have more opportunities to race at such a high level.
We are delighted to be supporting this new High Performance initiative following the Super League format and F1 series of old. Our national pathways athletes can’t wait to participate in what is shaping up to be a super competitive environment of racing at the highest level. This fun, fast and furious racing is very exciting and well done Corey Bacon on getting this off the ground.
It was great to be apart of the first AGPT race of the series in my hometown of Canberra. The event was well run on a spectator friendly course which incorporated a combination of technical sections which made for an entertaining day of racing. The eliminator format and super sprint distances are rapidly becoming an important skill in triathlon due to the introduction of the Mixed Team Relay into the Olympic and Commonwealth Games programs. Races such as these are important for Youth/Junior athletes to be involved in, to help develope the skills required to meet the demands for this short/sharp racing. Fast transitions, bike handling and open water swimming techniques are some of the skills which benefit from participating in AGPT events. Corey is extremely experienced within these areas and I would strongly encourage, younger athletes and others looking to further develop their skills, to give it a go.
‘This series of races provides the best opportunities for Australian pathway Triathletes due to their design, affordability, prize money and opportunity.
Pathway Athletes today are the future of Triathlon in Australia.
Racing opportunities are vital to developing these young Triathletes’ so they have the skill to not only enjoy the sport of Triathlon and create a foundation for healthy habits for life, but to also instil the grit, resilience and knowledge required to become a World leading Triathlete.
Every Pathway Triathlete in Australia should be involved in this series.’
“I have seen a lot of great events come and go over the years. Australia has always been the innovator. So it is so great to see the AGPT series is providing short, fast competitive events for the younger generation to fine their race skills. By thinking outside the box and moving away from traditional distances”
Partners
Events like this don’t happen without support of those who wish to make a difference. These events have been created for the development and future athletes in our sport. Currently every aspect of these events is funded internally but I am only one person keen to support our future. I would welcome any businesses or non-businesses who are willing to contribute to the ongoing promotion and growth of the Australian Triathlon Grand Prix brand and to help make this series a reality. Don't miss out on making change, it feels fantastic. It's not supporting me, it is supporting the athletes as all contributions go back to the athletes.
My door is always open for discussions. Remember ‘Our Future Is Here’
