About

Triple Mix is on the menu for this round of Grand Prix racing. Athletes versatility will be tested as the they all go through the Round 1 with a SBR and then reverse it for Round 2. Results from 1 and 2 will see athletes line up in Round 3 in a pursuit start commencing with the Bike. How much time will you give yourself?

Mistakes in this format are costly as every second counts in Round 1 and 2 as they define Round 3’s pursuit start. At the end of each Round, athletes only have a few minutes to reset themselves and their equipment.

Athletes will be pushing the limits all the way to the end of each round to ensure they make the cut off time before the next Round starts.

Format

Youth Category – 3 rounds of racing

Junior Category – 3 rounds of racing

U23 and Elite – 3 rounds of racing

Note: Eliminations enforced when adequate field numbers – above 12 athletes per race


Round 1 – mass start and athletes race swim-bike-run. All go through to Round 2 – . Round 2 will start exactly 5min after the leader crosses the line.

Round 2 – mass start and athletes race run-bike-swim – the leader will get 5min rest after they cross the line prior to round 3 commencing – if you don’t make the start line when round 3 starts you will be eliminated.

Round 3 – pursuit style start and athletes race bike-swim-run. Athletes will have a short run to transition for the start of the bike leg.
